Buying guide
Choosing saltwater & salmon for BC waters
Downrigger trolling with a line-counter reel lets you repeat the depth that produced.
For halibut and lingcod, think heavy jigs, circle hooks and enough weight to hold bottom in current.
Counter tips
- Tidal licence + salmon stamp required for salmon
- Check DFO openings and closures before every trip
- Rinse saltwater gear after every trip
